Solo play and time travels

The best pluses about aging or having gained some experience in life is that time becomes more and more like a piano.. Thought, dreams, ideas, philosophy and moments can be played, fast forward and backwards without discrimination of 'timing being wrong or right'.   Old private speculations and dreams are commonly shared on the Internet, through books and media and we all know.  Fever things
have the effect of a surprise or 'bliss' of expectations.  X disappointments turn out to be later blessings.
Where I count these 'blessings' is partly knowing that the raise of human consciousness is for all mankind to share.  So why would I project personal semi silly photographs of my self.  Well this day was loaded with travels in time while listening to music and interviews with people my inner mirror reflects on the stillness in the very space I thrive in.  Life of shamans living in the Amazon, life of artist living in London, life in general in all cultures spiral through ones vision and heart.
The ceiling in my bathroom is blue, when looking further it reaches light and the opening is the sky, the camera is a tool to play with, the computer an instrument.  The structure of being is as fluid and rigid as ones imagination.  Fifteen minutes traveling through the mirrors, visualizing the skyscrapers with garden roofs.  Memorizing the flight of unwritten history.

Return to Sender

In the 70's, 80's and nineties the 'natural' state of everyday life was postal mail, near and overseas.
Writing postcards on trips and receiving postcards from friends, family and business from all over.
Over and over I redesign how to store, display, share and enjoy these precious items on thick paper.  With words of fun love joy, tease, history etc.  My mother who Guðrún who was born 1919 and died 2003
was an expert on writing fast hand letters and this envelope contains her handwriting.  It obviously never reached to the destination point, but I absolutely adore this envelope and all the energy envolved.

Nature matches food

'Accidental art' verses 'I do not belief in coincidences' still I think I am on to something...
Few nights ago I had this crawing for a warm fruit cake with whipped cream and made one really fast and ate it late p.m.
Couple of hours later I see the sky is turning into one of those magic midnight shows
that makes most photographers run out.
At least I did and had fun being energized by natures gifts.
Back indoors at 02:30 a.m. and still plenty to observe in the heavens.
The extreme pleasures of living in the altitude of 65° North...
Is the 'Bliss' now high Summer Season!!
Anyway the point of this 'story' is that it was not until now when I was sorting the photographs
the discovery of the matching colors of the cake to the sunset.
Apples and berry jam on a wholewheat cake.
All there is to it, the gods reply:~)

Then came the other cake, and another sunset:
  A cake for Aliens!

Time - Jumps 1996 - 2010

~

See it as the beginning rather then the end.

See it as a playground in the future
.........in the light of coming generations
with fresh input
of your seeds.

Be a life model
of transparent times.

Blogging for or to myself means to keep your 'sketch-book' open.  Yet I do not work as freely
as in paper made sketch-books of the past era, i.e. before the internet.
The 'Open-End' ideas, this one to one cable to the universe is now so loaded
with layers of millions and millions blogging....

The following picture is a typical page from one of my
"Last Century Sketch-books"
The norm book was one per month, variation in thickness
and subjects and media..

 "Fly-City" 1996
Was actually a sketch for a sculpture I made out of plexi glass and motherboards.
To be joined in the series of "Memo-Cities of Past Futures"..

Anyway time to take another bright-night sleep via Midnight Sun.
Love and blessings from Reykjavík.

Snorra - Edda

The three year old boy asked me:

Why does he wear a long dress?

The temptation to say:
"Maybe he was a cross-dresser"
:-)
But instead replied: "This is a coat"!

The merging Eye

As a former 'full-time' painter I get those urges to paint when the situation is not at hand to make the mess, set up canvases and squeeze oil tubes.  But technically it brings out NEW ways of painting...
Here the first photo is from series of EXPLORING the EYE of "The Bloggers-Room" :) ..Just to invent something to jump from the box to the ethers of the internet.

Next exploration last week was painting via digital by using a copper plate ~ got really into this one..  Large Prints available!

The third jump with the eager painters eye is the nature.   It is worth making a three hour drive for a FIND like this tunnel with view to the ocean....And flip it over make it a space ride, or hike:)

Human survival kit

Most of the head news today are about Stephen Hawking questions about
extraterrestrial life. Very interesting, yet discouraging. And funny:)

How come we all speculate on 'higher intelligence' and the first thing that is
comes up is >WAR on the unknown>! Wars are primitive!!!

My intuition likes to believe that Earth and human mankind can be saved
as long as the concept of "Fear and Wars" is excluded
in the "Survival Kit for Mankind"..

With all respect with Stephen Hawking. His science and life has always been
an inspiration to me.

For this 'subject' my visual pick from Sissu´s works
of visuals we have:
"The Human Airport"
( Available in large print on canvasor high UV paper quality Large scales- contact: thoth@isl.is )

Sunday, April 11, 2010

I saw an advertisement today on e-flux from the Danish Government.
It ignited an urge in me to make a manifestation in, for and about visual arts in this Day and Time.
The invitation for participation does call upon an institution, gallery and such.
That is very disappointing, but just for a second.
It just fired up an idea for 'one'....
To establish a Gallery with the title:

"GALLERY EVOLUTION"

Perhaps it exists somewhere but in this case the title is about
The Evolution of Visual Arts.
Visual Arts being in a full turnaround...
What is not visual today?

Or should we phrase it:

"Visual Religion"?

There are thousand ways of making a write up on the Evolution of Visual Art's
from Alpha to Beta or in other words before and after
THE INTERNET, punctum.
~THE WEB ~

Visual Arts is ALL and NOTHING
yet INVITES anything
possible to carry
the TITLE
VISUAL ARTS
most prominently if
presented from THE ALCHEMIST
through a NETWORK of BEES
that peel the leaves of the growing
TREE
and make it a SELLING product.

"Veritas"
The scribe and visual composer
of Sissu's Culture
is passed the efforts for
this ~ that
application:)

RESET ...2010...ENERGY The contemplation and REALITY of this TIME is NATURE. The sky above my windows in Reykjavík Feb-March 2010.

Energy - Mirror 2010 For almost seven years I have been playing and sometimes making serious 'studies' with variations of kaleidoscope-ing digital photographs...With the intent of searching for the inner language of the thing or place in 'quest'... Sometimes with satisfying result to the fact of having images printed up and exhibited and also making notes on the degrees etc. Files and files of these works are waiting to be displayed on my website www.sissu.com that so far hosts only old works in a very 'naive' order. Any volunteers for the big task of making archives publicly accessible for commercial purposes? In other words All is for sale: contacts: thoth@isl.is sissu.palsdottir@gmail.com

"FASHION FUSED"

The name of the manuquin is:
"GINA LOLLI-BRIGITTA"
She is Model 1937
Size 44
from New York
and she came to Iceland
as "luggage" 1995
Her moods have been many.
A Strong Lady she is:)

One of my favorite design-artist in the recent
years was late Alexander McQueen.
I allow myself to say that we had much in common.
His animal prints on recent dresses are
in direst family with my Digital Artwork for
the past 5 years. so I was so thrilled seeing
his Spring collection....
These Puma sneakers by McQueen
grew this black hair just days before
his shocking departure from Earth.
Blessed is his Memory.
